Discover Porto from a central location
Porto
Culture, history and the Douro River just a few minutes' walk away
Leaving Heritage Palace means trading the palace’s quiet for the vibrant pulse of an authentic city. Located on Rua D. Manuel II, our refuge is an invitation to unhurried exploration, where culture and the Douro are always just a short walk away.
Clérigos Tower and Lello Bookstore
A few minutes from the hotel, two of the city's main icons, ideal for exploring on foot.
Clérigos Tower and Lello Bookstore are two of the most visited sites in Porto, located just a few minutes from the hotel. Beyond their geographical proximity, there is a special historical connection linking us to Lello Bookstore.
The same master craftsman responsible for the bookstore’s emblematic stained-glass windows also created the original stained glass that now decorates our Winter Garden Room. A direct link between the heritage of Heritage Palace Hotel and the history of the city.
São Bento Station and Porto Cathedral
Discover São Bento Station and Porto Cathedral, two historic landmarks of Porto.
São Bento Station is much more than a train terminal. Its azulejo panels illustrate centuries of Portuguese history and have made it one of the city’s most visited spaces. Just above, Porto Cathedral offers views over the historic center that are well worth not missing.
Ribeira, Dom Luís Bridge and Port Wine Cellars
Explore the riverside district, cross Dom Luís Bridge and visit the Port Wine cellars.
Ribeira brings together everything that makes Porto unmistakable: the Douro, the colorful houses and the life that unfolds by the riverside. Dom Luís Bridge connects on foot to Gaia, where the Port Wine cellars offer guided tours with tastings. It’s worth setting aside half an afternoon for this route.
Crystal Palace Gardens
Gardens just steps from the hotel, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the view over the Douro.
One of Porto’s most pleasant green spaces, with well-kept gardens, peacocks roaming freely and views over the Douro that make the visit unforgettable. Free entry, open every day. The sunset from here is one of the most sought-after in the city.
Bishop's Palace and the Legacy of the Viscounts
A journey through time to discover the origins of our story.
To understand the essence of Heritage Palace Hotel, it’s worth heading up to the Bishop’s Palace. It is in this iconic monument that you’ll find the exhibition dedicated to the Viscounts of São João da Pesqueira, the former owners and residents of the palace that welcomes you today.
Soares dos Reis National Museum
Portugal's first public art museum, right next to our palace.
Housed in the imposing Palácio dos Carrancas, right on our street, Soares dos Reis National Museum is a must for anyone seeking Porto’s cultural side. Just a few steps from the hotel, this space invites an unhurried exploration of the finest collection of 19th-century Portuguese sculpture and painting.
